Memorial Day

The office will be closed Monday, May 30th in observance of Memorial Day. Regular office hours will resume Tuesday, May 31st.

Bulk Waste Disposal Information

Start Date: May 16th till May 23rd or after 10 times being emptied, whichever comes first.

Locations: There will be a dumpster at the Public Works Building, 233 E. Railroad St.

Part-time Summer Help Wanted

City of Prophetstown Public Works Department is seeking a part-time summer applicant. Applicants must be at least 17 years old, able to work various hours, able to lift 50lbs, responsibilities include assisting the public works dept. with general building maint., park maint., lawn mowing and other various duties. Summer employees may be required to work 7 am to 3:30 pm Mon- Fri. thru the end of August. Applications may be mailed, e-mailed or dropped off at Prophetstown City Hall, 339 Washington St., Prophetstown IL 61277, and e-mail office@prophetstownil.org. Applications available at www.prophetstownil.org. We will be accepting applications until June 3rd, 2022.

Bulk Waste Disposal

The City of Prophetstown will be holding a Bulk Waste Disposal starting May 16th at Noon. This will last until May 23 or until the dumpsters have been emptied 10 times, whichever comes first. Please do not wait to bring your items to the dumpsters, as they fill quickly.

Office Closed

City Hall office will be closed Friday, April 15th, 2022 in observance of Good Friday. Office hours will resume as normal on Monday, April 18th.

Hydrant Flushing

Public Works will be doing hydrant flushing April 12th, 13th, and 14th from 7:00 am until 3:30 pm.

Zoning Board Meeting

The City Zoning Board will hold a meeting on Monday, April 11, 2022 at 6:00 pm to discuss the possible rezoning of the property at the intersection of Grove St. and W. 6th St. This meeting is open to the public.

E-waste Disposal

Public works will be holding E-waste disposal dates this summer. These dates will include Saturday, June 25th and Saturday, August 27th.
Location: This will take place at the Public Works building at 233 E. Railroad St.
