A Parcel of Property Owned by the City of Prophetstown and Invitation to Bid 

PLEASE TAKE NOTICE THAT the City Council of the City of Prophetstown (the “City”) will receive sealed bids for the purchase, under the successful bid, of the fee simple interest of the following parcel ofreal property (the “Real Property”):

Part of Block 2 of Ramsay, Smith and Greene’s Addition to the City of Prophetstown, Whiteside County, Illinois; according to the Plat thereof recorded June 17, 1872 in Surveyor’s Record Book 2, page 32, described as follows: Commencing at a stake 225 feet in a Southerly direction from the Northeast corner of Block 2 in Ramsay, Smith and Greene’s Addition to the City of Prophetstown on the West side of Washington Street, thence in a Southerly direction along the West side of Washington Street 80 feet; thence in a Northwesterly direction and at right angles with Washington Street 150 feet; thence in a Northeasterly direction and parallel with said Washington Street 80 feet to land owned by Marietta G. Besse, thence in a Southeasterly direction 150 feet to the place of beginning, situated in Whiteside County, Illinois.

Commonly described as 510 Washington Street, Prophetstown, IL 61277 PIN: 21-04-106-012

The successful bidder shall agree to accept the Real Property in “as-is” condition. The City expressly disclaims any warranties, express or implied, relating in any way to the Real Property, including but not limited to any warranty relating to the environmental condition of the Real Property, or any addition of structures upon the same.

Bids for the purchase of the above described Real Property are hereby invited and will be received by the City Clerk during business hours until 12:00 p.m. on February 12th, 2019 for the bid opening on the date specified below. Said proposals shall be addressed to:

and shall bear the legend “PROPOSAL- SALE OF REAL PROPERTY” and the name and address of the bidder. Bids may be for one or both parcels. Bids for an individual parcel should specify the parcel for which the bid is being submitted.

All bids received will be publicly opened and read aloud at the regular meeting of the Mayor and City Council of the City of Prophetstown at 7:00 p.m. on February 12th, 2019, at 339 Washington St. Prophetstown.

A formal real estate contract shall be executed by the successful bidder, or bidders, at the time the highest qualified bid is accepted.

Minimum sale price of Lot is $1,000.00.

A contract for sale will be entered into with the highest bidder whose bid is found to be in the best interest of the City. The City Council reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive any informalities or irregularities in the bidding. The City Council further reserves the right to review and study any and all bids and to award acceptance of the bid within 30 days after the bids have been opened and publicly read.
